Alan & Sheila
Saticoy Regional Golf Course
Somis, CA.
The first part of my duties is to photograph the groom with his groomsmen. So I head to the address that I was given. When I pull up I see a really old house. Was the address wrong? No, this was Alan’s house, which had been built by his grandfather. Unfortunately, the temperature was around 100 degrees, and the groomsmen did not want to take photos outside. So we took them inside.
The ceremony site was an hour away, so time was short. But we made it with plenty to spare. Once everyone was down the aisle along came Sheila and boy was she emotional. But then came the vows and she was even more emotional. Here is a portion of the vows;
With this ring, I give you my promise
that from this day forward
I will give you all my love,
and you shall not walk alone.
I have no greater gift to give.
As your love is my anchor,
and your trust is my strength,
May my heart be your shelter
and my arms be your home.
As this ring has no end or beginning,
so shall my love for you be.
As I place it on your finger,
I give you all that I am,
and all that I shall become.
There was so much emotion that I almost did not notice that the ceremony site had a gorgeous view. The was acres upon acres of strawberry fields……
“Let me take you down
‘Cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields Forever”
–The Beatles 1967
